Many players tend to think that the only reason suited cards are better than unsuited is the slightly better winning persentage. Not what I think, I think they are of much greater importance than just that.

One of the most important advantages of the suited cards is the possibility to form the nuts hand. With two unsuited cards this possibility is really deminished. Actually if you have the suited ace and you form a flush, it is very probable that you have the nuts, all you have to do is just get sure there are no two cards of the same rank on the board and that is all. You have the Nuts! However you must get sure too that a straight flush is not possible (I have made that mistake a couple of times myself)!
